Every few years fast fashion rebrands - 'conscious collections', recycled lines, resale pilots. We ran the current model through the rubric. Here is the report card.

## Versatility: C

The clothes are designed to be photographed once, not integrated. Cuts chase the micro-trend of the month, which by definition does not match the wardrobe you built from last month's micro-trend.

## Cost per wear: F

The counterintuitive one. A $12 tee feels cheap, but at 5 wears before it twists, fades, or pills, it costs $2.40 per wear - more than a $45 heavyweight tee worn 200 times at $0.23. Cheap clothes are expensive; it just takes a spreadsheet to see it.

## Staying power: F

Ultra-fast cycles run 2-4 weeks from design to rack. Nothing designed to expire in a month can score on longevity.

## Exit test: F

The resale market has spoken: ultra-fast fashion has effectively zero resale value. The exit is the donation bin, where the volume is so high that most donated fast fashion is exported or landfilled, not resold.

## Overall: F

The model's only real defense is access - not everyone can spend $45 on a tee. Fair. But the middle path exists: secondhand quality brands now cost the same as new fast fashion on most platforms, and the rubric scores them A across the board. The answer to fast fashion is not spending more; it is buying the same amount, used.
